Mixed fortunes for the two RSR prepared cars on the first round of the 2012 BHRC.
Rob & Shaun had entered the new FIA class with the Chevette.
A brake problem slowed them on SS1 but they were still showing in 8th overall at first service.
A much better start to SS2 only to be hampered by a rear puncture which slowed them enough to be overtaken by the following two crews dropping several minutes.
Stage 3 saw some very strange handling characteristics develop which are thought to be differential related (subject to confirmation following a stripdown of the axle in the workshop).
By contrast Ian Drummond and co-driver Hu Kent had a faultless run in their Mk1 RS2000.
The new pairing performed well together and were only delayed when stopping to check the condition of a crew who had crashed in front of them on SS4.
